Philippa Ordan is a talented sculptress who was initially trained as a lace designer at Nottingham Art College and worked for several major international companies.

As a mature student invited to join the HND course in Ceramics at Chesterfield Art College. On completion moved to South Africa for many years, living in CapeTown.

As a regular rider and competitor on the dressage circle, became involved in portrait sculptures of other horse owners animals.

A fascination with both art noveau and the stylised equine sculptures know as the Elgin Marbles led to the distinctive stylised horse and zebra heads.

During the time in Africa many heads were sold through major galleries and exhibitions. Since returning to the UK heads have been sold mainly through the John Noot Gallery in Broadway, and the Anderson Gallery in Burford, and Susan Megson Gallery in Stowe-on-the-Wolds, Cotswolds, also directly at the Burleigh Horse Show and The Sculptress Gallery outside Warwick.
